I’m not great at taking supplements but since turning to a plant based diet even if I wanted to take them I get fed up trying to read labels to see if they’re vegan or not. I’ve found myself some vitamin C tablets now so that’s a start, but I have a lot of issues with my joints and really need to take supplements for that but where do you start – so many use lactose in them for example, it’s a nightmare.
Everyone knows that chondroitin and glucosamine are the go to ingredients for healthy joints however up until now I’ve had to avoid because chondroitin is an animal product. When I was vegetarian, I didn’t realise that was the case – I’m so much more aware with my plant-based diet now.
I was shocked when I read up more about the manufacture of chondroitin, which I won’t go into all the detail here but let’s just say it makes me glad that I’m not consuming it. One of the main things though for people who are looking for support is reliability, which varies depending on the source. Regardless of your dietary or lifestyle choices, when you buy a product you want to ensure it works.
In comes a product from Vegetology, which I’ve been introduced to through being a volunteer blogger for the Vegan Lifestyle Association and is going to be my go to alternative. A vegan and vegetarian association approved glucosamine supplement with at long last an alternative to chondroitin – Phytodroitin™. The product is called Joint-vie and includes calcium, vitamin C, D3 and K2 along with magnesium. As well as being vegan, they’re also free from gluten so they really are suitable for everyone.
Phytodroitin™ is 100 per cent plant based of course, it’s scientific and while I don’t understand it, I do like the idea that there is a maintained quality of production – you can read more about it here. I’ve been taking the tablets for about one month and while the product is aimed at people in later life or those with an active lifestyle – I’m electing to be in the latter camp. I think it will take time to realise the benefits, but now I’ve found a product I can trust I’m going to stick with it.
Vegetology have a fantastic store, with a specific vegan shop section so you don’t have to hunt down, which products you can take. And you can buy in Sterling, Euro or US Dollars so international shipping is available.
This review has been organised by the Vegan Lifestyle Association (https://veganlifestyleassoc.com/). It has not been paid for and the products were sent free of charge. This is my genuine and unbiased review of the product.
